On Sunday, July 29, 2012, the SF 99% Coalition presented speakers in a Forum called “Our Vanishing Civil Liberties – Why It Matters Now!” about the National Defense Authorization Act, featuring speakers including the Rev. Jeremiah Kalendae, Unitarian Universalist Beyond Sunday Minister, introduced by organizer Dolores Perez Priem. Master of Ceremonies Art Persyko introduced speakers Shahid Buttar, Executive Director, Bill of Rights Defense Committee; Grace Shimizu, Organizer, Asian Americans for Peace & Justice; Nancy Mancias, Code Pink Accountability Campaigner; and Jessica Beeler, event organizer who conducted the Q and A Session.
